Learn skills today to protect the future of wetlands for all

Welcome to the Wetland Learning Hub, a one-stop digital home for wetland education and training.

This is a community and resource for wetland professionals working in NGOs, civil society, local or national government and wetland reserves or centres.

Do you want to be at the forefront of vital work to save our world's ecosystems and design a positive future for your wetlands?

Our mission is to equip professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to protect our global wetlands from the impending climate crisis. We believe the future of wetlands protection and restoration is possible, with greater access to this knowledge.

This project is bought to you by WWT, one of the largest and most respected not-for-profit wetland conservation organisations in the world, and an IOP to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.

We have now completed the 8-week online pilot Foundation Course in Wetland Health and Vitality of our Wetland Learning Hub (WLH), with 39 participants successfully completing the course.

We have also had good news from the UK Government’s Darwin Capacity and Capability funding, which has awarded us essential funding to develop the course in three key regions over the next two years. We will be working with partners in West Africa, Madagascar and the Indo-Burma region to create regional hubs that will run their own locally relevant courses and create a resource for wetland practitioners. This funding will also allow us to develop our own in-house version of the hub, complete with a resource library and a community forum tool.
